Colette Scholten, Senior Associate

Colette ScholtenColette Scholten joined the new home industry in metro Detroit in 1988 in the sales and marketing arena. With a background in public relations and business development, as well as secondary and postsecondary education, Colette has consistently developed award-winning sales teams for builders.

Over the past 18 years, Colette has assembled and managed sales organizations, design center teams, and mortgage companies to serve the building industry. Through this involvement, she has developed a sales development program and sales coaching format that is currently used by several builders.

As a real estate broker, Colette established realty offices to assist new home buyers in selling existing homes. She trained all new agents to sell new construction homes and presented the training in other real estate offices to encourage agents to visit builders’ new home communities.

With emphasis on marketing outreach, Colette assisted the American Lung Association in designing the technical specifications, marketing campaign and sale for the first Health House in Michigan in 1997. As a result, Colette originated two other Michigan Health Homes. Colette is past President of the Board of the American Lung Association, currently serves on the Executive Board, and has served on the National Governance Board of the American Lung Association.

As a presenter at NAHB Orlando in 2006, Colette shared the manager’s role in video mystery shopping as an educational tool for new home sales staff. She is a nine year recipient of the Platinum Sales Manager Award and is a member of the southeastern Michigan Sales & Marketing Council and the Michigan Association of Realtors.

Married with five children, Colette spends her leisure time with her family and enjoys walking, reading, and gardening.
